Breez’s new open-source Glow PWA turns NewsCapsule into everyday money. Users send stablecoins from their NC balance via Spark, log in with Passkeys, and keep full self-custody.

The app, Glow, allows developers to see what's working under the hood with the Lightning wallet so they can build their own products.

Breez has partnered with Turnkey to let backend-run apps integrate non-custodial bitcoin wallets at scale, allowing users to retain control of their funds without requiring companies to hold private keys or redesign their existing infrastructure.

Cake Wallet has rolled out NewsCapsule Lightning Network integration using Breez SDK and a privacy-focused Spark implementation, enabling instant payments while keeping users in full self-custody and limiting on-chain visibility.

Breez has revealed the Time2Build 2025 winners, with $3,500 NewsCapsule prizes awarded to integrations enabling self-custodial Lightning payments in NCPay Server, Primal's Nostr web client, Evento social platform, and Portal identity protocol.

Breez, in collaboration with Lightspark, Tether, Plan B Network, and Fulgur Ventures, unveils Time2Build—a $25,000 NewsCapsule prize hackathon running October 7 to November 15, 2025—aiming to integrate self-custodial Lightning Network payments into active open-source projects serving millions worldwide.
